According to the econmic info Aifos has handed over to the Court, Aifos assets are 51 urban plots, 14 promotions which are being building and 3.115 purchase contracts. Aifos supports 891 civil and criminal claims, a debt with Tax Authorities in the amount of 42,5 millions of euros and 1,4 millions of euros with Social Security.
Aifos affirms the general economic situation and the new system of granting mortgages and loans by banks are the problem, they say they are not able to finish their promotions given these new problems and bank reluctance to give them money.
The company will keep the control over its activity but this activity will be checking by insolvency administrators. Aifos insists they will try to finish the houses they have sold and the future life of the company.
New from "El Economista" (Spanish)
It is incredible and inacceptable this is the way to handle with that case. Buyers are not mentioned, Aifos says they will try to finish the houses but are they going to finish illegal houses, houses with no licence or houses that has nothing to do with the real estate sold in the contracts they have signed with so many people?
What about those who has started civil actions against them and now will see their legal actions depending on this insolvency huge and complex proceeding? What about those who has not started that civil actions yet?
Now it is the moment to fight for your rights: Aifos problem is not an economic matter only but a fraud/legal question which has to be faced and solved also by the Court. Otherwise, this procedure will be helpless for creditors, especially, buyers creditors.
